In Server Management, if VPS hosting is purchased from Active Servers, we not only take care of the its availability, but we also manage the security, core upgrades, maintenance, installing any PHP versions, extensions, etc.

In unmanaged VPS hosting, the client needs to perform all the server responsibilities such as updates, installing any PHP versions or extensions and other tasks so that the client must have the technical expertise or a server administrator to manage server. Managing the servers yourself requires time and technical expertise. We do not recommend unmanaged/self-managed VPS hosting to clients who do not have technical expertise; In such a case, managed or semi-managed VPS is the best solution. We recommend avoid saving your server password on browser password manager, login to server from private window of web browser instead of normal window of web browser, do not login to server using mobile browser or mobile internet, always login from PC systems and broadband Internet, and do not share server password over chat or call.

You can create 30 tickets per month. In most cases our customers raise no more than 30 support tickets per month. However, after 30 tickets, you will have to pay an additional Rs 200 per ticket.

Well, it depends. You can purchase one of our backup servers and make a support request, when ordering your server management service, our technical team will schedule a backup for your server.

It is basic that you keep a backup for your important data. We suggest you take an automatic backup to another drive, so even in the case of a disk failure, we can restore your server data. However, if you can't afford the downtime and your data is very important, you can buy another server with similar configuration and similar control panel (usually most servers use control panel like plesk) and take automatic daily backups on it so you can change DNS and go is live again within minutes.

No, we don't charge any additional cost for migrating up to 2 servers* (from cPanel, Plesk as well as from non-control panel servers), in most cases our clients migrate their servers in 2-4 years. We process the server migration into 4 steps.

Step 1: Once the access is given to both the servers (source server and destination server), we migrate all the data from the source server to the destination server without making the new server live immediately.

Step 2: After all the data is migrated, we'll ask you to test your website's data on the new server, plus we'll point 1 website DNS to the new server to check that things are OK.

Step 3: Now, when you confirm that all data is OK, we will ask you the time and date to go live with the new server, preferably in the mid-night or on weekends when traffic and load on the server are low.

Step 4: At that point, we resync files and databases that were modified or recently added after the migration, so no data will lose since the initial migration. Also, we can change the DNS TTL (time to live) for all your domains to 10 minutes for at least 24 hours before going live with your new server. Therefore, it will not be caching your domain DNS for more than 10 minutes and IP changes will be reflected very fast after migration.

Yes, we will check if any service is stuck or down like Apache and MySQL so we restart the service but if the server is also down then in that case if you have provided us your VPS provider details, we will sign-in to the portal and check if there is any open ticket related to complaint of abuse or any billing due. If there is a complaint of abuse, we will ask your provider to un-suspend/start your VPS to investigate the issue and then we will take necessary actions to resolve the abuse complaint or if billing is due, we will inform you to clear the due.

Yes, we make every possible effort (which could be within reach) to resolve the issue during an emergency without your availability. We also request all our clients to give us a contact that we might need for a billing issue, or any emergency that we cannot resolve without your help.
